Evidence that God Exists

"People have speculated about the possibility that monkeys typing at random on typewriters could, given enough time, produce the complete works of Shakespeare. But if each proton in the universe were to become a monkey, and each monkey were to produce one whole book per day, after a trillion years we would have only 4 x 10^92 books. This entire process would have to be repeated something like 2x10^99,907 times to get close to the total of 10^100,000 possible books. (And this picture presumes that monkeys type nothing except actual words, rather than random sequences of letters.)" - Vern Poythress, see page 44 here, of, In the Beginning Was the Word: Language, a God-Centered Approach.

Again, note that this assumes the monkeys are only using real words. According to statisticians Bradley Efron and Ronald Thisted, Shakespeare used 884,647 words, (including repetitions of words).

According to the Human Genome Project, the human genome is composed of about 3 billion base pairs. (There are even more base pairs than that in one of your cells.) So if we compare one base pair to one monkey-typed Shakespeare word, the human genome is almost 3,400x longer than the monkey typed complete works of Shakespeare.

When someone tries to explain how humanity came into existence through random evolutionary processes, we should realize that what they are claiming is unfathomably more unlikely than trillions and trillions of monkeys working tirelessly for an incomprehensibly greater amount of time than any atheistically asserted age of the universe to produce a book that is 3,400 times shorter than the human genome. The very people who laugh at the miracles in Christianity assert their own miracles performed by the idol, "random chance". Bowing down to a brick makes more sense than ascribing glory to random chance, since bricks actually exist to a greater extent than the god of their worthless myth.

"The fool says in his heart there is no God." - Psalm 14:1.

Consider the impossibility of the atheistic worldview. The existence of anything, let alone the human being, is unexplainable even if you choose to grant all the stuff they assume, (deep time, uniformitarianism, the possibility macro-evolution from primordial ooze into bacteria into bulldogs into infinity and beyond). Furthermore, with atheistic assumptions, to even argue that all of this is explainable... or to even argue about anything using the laws of logic, is inconsistent, since that these atheistic assumptions necessarily exclude the possibility of, as demonstrated by Cornelius Van Til and Greg Bahnsen: "predication, reason, explanation, interpretation, learning, certainty, universals, possibility, cause, substance, being, or purpose, counting, coherence, unity, or system in experience or in a conception of a "universe," logic, individuating of facts, unchanging "natures" or laws in a chance universe, uniformity, science, connecting logic and facts or predication to reality, avoiding contradictions, avoiding the irrationalism or scepticism which arise from the tension between knowing discursively and knowing-asystematic, etc." In other words, you lose the epistemological preconditions need to argue for your own atheism. It is like cutting off the branch you are sitting on. It is like arguing that arguing is impossible. Yet without regeneration (the new birth) and (repentance), (the changing of the mind granted to us by the Holy Spirit which leads to a changed life), the natural man is enslaved in these dungeons of delusion. Oh, that God would rip away the chains of your unbelief, and that you would one day reflect: "Long my imprisoned spirit lay, fast bound in sin and nature's night; Thine eye diffused a quickening ray; I woke, the dungeon flamed with light! My chains fell off, my heart was free; I rose, went forth, and followed Thee!" (Charles Wesley)

Ultimately, however, this monkey thing is just one piece of evidence amidst millions of pieces which every single person reading this already has. You can't even open your eyes without amassing more and more evidence. The unbelief of the nations does not stem from a lack of evidence, but from a deep-seated, lifelong hatred of God, love for sin, and suppression of the truth. See more on this here. The nonbeliever abhors the thought of God ruling, controlling, judging, commanding, and being deserving of their worship, love, obedience, and fear.

If you are a nonbeliever, I pray that you would no longer be a suppressor of the truth, but rather a professor of the truth of God. Otherwise, you are a walking contradiction, worse than a person cared for and protected by parents he has convinced himself do not actually exist. God has been patient with you, but I promise you that unless you receive Christ, He will inflict righteous vengeance against you on the last day.

Turn from your sins and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ before it is too late. What is required for you to wake up from your slumber is God granting you repentance and faith in His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ who died to redeem suppressors of the truth, to the praise of God's glorious grace. Those who continue in their inexcusable rebellion will be condemned justly, to the praise of God's glorious justice, and on that day not a single person will be able to say that they did not have enough evidence.
